The Carretera Austral connects the south of the Los Lagos Region with its capital Puerto Montt and the Aysen region. The first sections of the road are interrupted by some fjords of the Chilean Patagonia that can be crossed with transporters.
The tourist center of this area is the town of Puyuhuapi with accommodations and many scenic attractions in its surroundings.
